Asami was an opportunity for me to practice a few different patterning techniques. The patterns for this cosplay were custom created: The jacket was draped on the stand, while the trousers were made using measurements for flat drafting. Both of these patterns have become staple pieces that I’ve relied on for multiple costumes I’ve created in the years after. The materials used for this costume were: cotton, pleather, jersey and faux suede.

One of Asami’s trademarks is her extreme widow’s peak. I bought a secondhand lace front wig and ventilated the front using some extra synthetic hair that I had in my stash. To see the makeup  transformation, check out the video below the gallery.
