My favorite thing to do on photo shoots is to experiment with movement and lately I’ve been having a lot of fun doing hair flips. However, that requires a well secured wig, and while a photo of a wig flying straight off your head might be fun, it’s probably not what you’re going for.
Coming from a background in theatre, I like to use some of the same techniques for my cosplays as the ones we use to secure wigs on actors for the stage. Depending on the event or photo shoot that I’m doing, I adapt this method that you will see in the video below.
Most of the required items below can be found on Amazon. Some wig shops provide wig caps for you when you buy a wig from them.
What you’ll need for a secure wig:
– Bobby pins
– Snap clips
– A wig cap
– Different sizes of hair pins
– Spirit gum (I recommend Kryolan’s Matt Mastix)

The wig showcased here is sponsored by K’ryssma Wigs.
